Traveler ( noun):
A person who is traveling or who often travels.
Today I travel to Granada, Spain with Christian to present our research from the summer at the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) Conference.
I’ve always been impressed with the students who participated in the past, and I just knew that I couldn’t let another year go by without applying.
One thing I found myself doing for this trip is Hyper-planning (if that’s even a phrase) and making sure to pack light. Packing can be overwhelming when traveling to a new place. Last summer, I traveled extensively during the ten weeks of my internship, and it was the worst and best learning experience. I lugged around four bags (two large suitcases, one carry-on, and an oversized purse)!
We will be in Spain for just a week, so I don’t need a lot of stuff. Because I didn’t want to check any bags this time, I looked on Pinterest for inspiration and ideas for packing only a carry-on.
I was an over packer, and officially I am now a minimalist packer… to a certain degree, packing camera equipment, snacks, and toiletries are still a tad challenging to minimize.
Listed below are three website/blogs I found helpful tips for packing light. Stay tuned for my week adventure in Spain!
I’m using my new Herschel carry on bag, which is fabulous, thanks to Christian. He bought it for Valentine’s Day. I always like to have a blanket, neck pillow, and a good book on the airplane. My co-worker bought me this cute passport sleeve for Christmas ( I think from target).
